LINAGGLO

Axis 1: Low environmental impact materials in their environments

2024-2027: 3 years to develop an eco-designed, low-carbon construction solution

The main aim of the project is to design and optimize a biosourced concrete masonry block and industrialize its manufacture in a prefabrication plant.

Another objective of the project is to obtain technical and environmental certificates for the construction process to justify the relevance of the LINAGGLO solution. A demonstration building will be built, and will be the subject of instrumentation, scientific validation and analysis of the hygrothermal performance and comfort of the buildings constructed.

The project's originality

It is in the mix of bio-sourced solutions. We're going to develop a structural material from flax as well as an insulating material that will complement the performance of the building envelope. The Vandecandelaere scutching company, with its expertise in flax stalk splitting (a know-how developed over 70 years ago), Builders Ecole d'Ingénieurs, with its expertise in structural materials and scale-up experience, and UniLaSalle for the insulating aspect of the material, Pigouchet for product implementation, form a solid consortium for the success of this project.

Project funders

The project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the French government and the Normandy Region as part of the regionalized I-démo AAP, which provided 54% of a total eligible budget of around 2.7 million euros.
