2024-2028: CIRCLEBIM; the BIM innovation project for a more circular construction sector

CircleBIM takes up these challenges by creating a collaborative and experimental space for interdisciplinary and interdepartmental action on the theme of innovation in circular construction. 6 partners from 6 different European countries (BE, DE, DK, FR, NL, SE) have come together and defined themselves as new innovation platforms, with regular exchanges and learning formats for testing, implementing and rolling out innovative circular construction pilot projects.

Project objectives

The partnership will apply and enhance Building Information Management (BIM) as a process and prerequisite for planning and building with circular materials, to increase process efficiency, sustainability and innovation. BIM, which is still rarely used in circular construction, makes it possible to structure complex information flows across sectors and to integrate multiple disciplinary players in these processes.

Transnational exchange supports regional innovation processes and lays the foundations for international standards for the use of BIM in circular construction. 7 regional strategic action plans consolidate innovation ecosystems, respectively enabling transfer to a partner region, while a program-wide deployment strategy ensures policy legacy and adoption.
